My name is Alan Osterberg. I’ve been a client of Bloom for roughly six years, and my adviser is James Blackham.

I was in a situation where I wanted to retire early. I’m single with no dependants, and I wanted more flexibility with my pension. The company pension that I was looking at drawing from gave a substantial reduction for retiring early and also assumed that I had a spouse and dependants. I wanted the flexibility to draw from my pension each year as I saw fit, so maybe drawing a bit less one year, spending a bit more another year, and really having that flexibility and control over my finances.

I found Bloom through researching on the internet, and I looked at their ratings on Trustpilot and thought I’d give them a chance and was really impressed when I first met James.

I chose Bloom because I wanted a financial adviser who was accessible, and I was impressed by their fees. To be honest, the fees were very competitive, and I was impressed by James and his knowledge and his ability to really listen and take account of my needs and empathise.

Working with James and the team at Bloom, I feel really comfortable. I know James is always accessible; I can always relate to him and his colleague, Jess, who I work with too. I feel like they’re always ready and open to whatever my needs are and how they change.

I feel very confident about my financial future; the investments have done very well, and I feel confident that they’re in good hands.

I would describe James as professional, relatable, and open to new ideas.

The best thing about working with James, Jess, and the rest of the team is their friendliness and relatability to my needs, and I just feel comfortable with them.

Since I’ve been with Bloom, I think the best advice I’ve been given is to hold tight during downturns. I do some research on the markets myself, so I kind of know this, but I’m impressed with James’s knowledge, and also having that reassurance has been a real help.

I would definitely recommend James and the rest of the team at Bloom. They’re hard-working, really innovative, and you can feel confident. I feel confident, definitely, with my finances with them.
